Qatar Airways (QR) Baggage Allowance Calculator

Qatar Airways permits one carry-on bag weighing up to 7 kg with maximum dimensions of 50×37×25 cm (length × width × height). The 7 kg carry-on weight limit on Qatar Airways is enforced at check-in and at the gate — leave a little room for purchases.

A small personal item (purse, small backpack, laptop bag) is also permitted on Qatar Airways provided it fits under the seat in front of you.

The checked allowance on Qatar Airways is 30 kg per standard bag — bag-inclusive fares are one of this carrier's quiet value levers. Additional bags cost $75 USD each on Qatar Airways; bag dimensions should total no more than 158 cm (62 in) linear — most standard suitcases comply.

Overweight charges on Qatar Airways start above 30 kg at $10 USD per kg; items between 30 and 40 kg typically incur a flat surcharge instead.

Two fee lines dominate a Qatar Airways excess bill: $75 for each additional checked bag and $10 per kilogram above 30 kg. The overweight-vs-second-bag decision is arithmetic: at $10/kg and $75 per extra bag, the crossover on Qatar Airways usually sits 3–6 kg over the 30 kg limit, depending on what the second bag already weighs.

Pre-book additional bags online — airport-side rates on Qatar Airways are 40–60% higher, and same-day changes at the counter may not be available at all.

Skis, golf clubs and bikes count as ordinary checked bags on Qatar Airways up to 30 kg; oversize items above 158 cm linear may incur a flat $75–150 surcharge. Instruments under 8 kg and within carry-on dimensions may travel in the Qatar Airways cabin; larger instruments need either a bought seat or checked handling — Qatar Airways recommends hard-shell cases and a declaration at check-in.

Assistive devices are always free on Qatar Airways (QR): wheelchairs, scooters and walkers are accepted at the gate and returned aircraft-side wherever feasible.
